Do you offer the services of a professional primary care physician?

Yes, we are proud to offer you personalized primary medical care by a Family Medicine specialist. Dr. Al-Misky is specialized to treat newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring the following to each clinic visit:

  • Photo ID
  • Current health insurance card
  • Current address and phone number
  • A list of the medication you are currently taking or the medication bottles of current prescriptions.

What to do if i need to cancel my appointment?

Please call the office, or text 248 759-0993. We appreciate a 24 hour notice for any cancellations.

What is the best method to contact you if I have questions about your personalized primary medical care?

Can I contact my doctor's office for medical advice?

Dr. Al-Misky and assistants are available during the day to answer medical questions. If you are sick and need to be seen, please call to make an appointment. If you wish to speak with the physician before scheduling, please call the office.

If we are not available to speak with you at that time, leave a message. We will make every effort to return your call as quickly as possible.

If you feel you are having a medical emergency, go to the nearest emergency room.

What if I have an urgent medical question after hours?

If you feel you are having a medical emergency or feel you need to go to the emergency room, please proceed directly to your closest ER. The ER staff will alert us at any time if they deem it necessary.

For urgent questions, you may contact us the next day, and will make an effort to schedule you ASAP.

Do you offer same day appointments?

Yes, we offer same day appointments. We prefer you call ahead for your appointment and the office staff will add you to the schedule where appropriate. We will always do our best to accommodate our patients.

How long will my appointment take?

Typically new patient appointments are 60 minutes. An established patient appointment may be 15-45 minutes long. We value your time. We are proud to offer on time appointments. Rare occasions arise for emergencies that do occur in the office and our provider will need to stabilize the emergent condition. Our promise to you is that we will take the time necessary to address your condition.

Do you offer annual health exams and preventative screenings?

Yes, we offer annual health exams and preventative screenings in our medical clinic. This includes: Comprehensive Medical History and Physical Exam, Medical Wellness Exams, Gyn Health Exams, Sports Physical Exams, in house Blood draws, Visual Testing, and Cancer Screenings.

What are your billing requirements?

Patients must pay any co-payments at the time of their visit. Patients are responsible to pay any amounts, such as deductibles, co-payments and co-insurance that their insurance company designates is their responsibility. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

What if hospitalization is necessary?

If hospitalization is necessary, we maintain direct contact with your hospital team and continue to provide optimal care to ensure your comfort and health.

Can you refer me to a specialist if needed?

Yes, we can arrange expedited consultations with top specialists in all fields necessary. When it comes to referrals we don’t take them lightly. We want you to see the “right” specialist for your unique healthcare needs. Because we are truly an independent private practice we continue to maintain our freedom to refer you to the “best” specialist whether in or out of a hospital network. This ensures you receive timely care.

How do I obtain a prescription renewal?

For prescription refills you may call your pharmacy or simply call our office. Please provide 24-48 hours for your medication to be sent to your pharmacy. Also provide your pharmacy information to send your prescription electronically.

Where is my prescription?

Unless requested otherwise, all prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy.

What do I do if my prescription runs out before my next office visit?

We fill routine prescriptions during scheduled office visits. Please check with your pharmacy to see if you have additional refills remaining on your prescriptions. When you call the office for a refill, be sure to have your pharmacy phone number available to give to our staff. You may be due for a follow-up appointment if refills are needed.

What happens if I need lab-work? Will I need to go to a lab?

Lab work may be drawn at our office or you may choose to go to a lab or hospital of your choice.

How will I be notified of test results?

Dr. Al-Misky releases lab results to your patient portal of our office. This includes detailed information about the tests along with any recommendations. Dr. Al-Misky will explain how you will receive test results for any testing done outside our office. Always make sure we have correct contact information so that we can reach you as soon as possible. If you do not receive results within the timeframe indicated, please contact our office

If I switch doctors will I need to repeat all my previous testing?

No. When you come into the office for your new patient appointment, bring the information of your previous providers and we will request your previous tests from these providers.

What does my insurance cover and how will I know what I will owe during my doctor visit?

During your visit we will make every effort to provide you with the best and highest level of service. We do not know the particulars of your health contract nor does the insurance company share this information with providers. However, we have extensive experience in billing and are able to answer most of your questions regarding coverage issues as per general insurance policies.

What is my copay and why do I owe you money when I pay for insurance?

Your copay is established by your insurance provider through a negotiated contract with your or your primary card-holder’s employer. Co-pays are owed at every encounter based on your insurance.

Is help with language translation available?

Yes. Please tell us when you schedule your appointment that you will need a language interpreter during your visit. For Arabic speaking patients, Dr. Al-Misky speaks Arabic fluently.

What minor procedures do you offer?

Yes, we are proud to offer you our professional minor skin procedures such as:Tag and Mole Removal, Abscess Incision and Drainage, Cerumen Removal, Foreign Body Removal of the Skin

Can you complete forms for school, camp, employment, etc.?

Yes, please provide the forms at the time of the visit or provide the office with the forms prior to your visit.

Are you affiliated with any hospitals?

Yes, Dr. Al-Misky is affiliated with Troy Beaumont, now with a new name, Corewell Health.
